Racial disparity, racism, discrimination, and bias have been at the forefront of many conversations in the last 10 years, these conversations have also reached the Speech-Language Patholisgist community. This workshop "Exploring Race and Class Inequalities in Speech Therapy Services" is hosted by the team at Andalusia Speech Therapy. Our team discusses structural institutional racism, negative narratives and stereotypes, how to promote understanding and awareness of disparate access to education, and contributing factors of inequity in speech therapy.
Upon completion of this 2-hour course, participants will be able to:
