Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that the land on which our clinic operates has been the traditional land of the Atikamekw and the Anishinaabe peoples for thousands of years. This territory was the subject of the Robinson-Huron Treaty, an agreement between the First Nations leaders and the British Crown which formalized their rights towards the land. Today, this land is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples. As a speech therapy clinic, we also want to acknowledge the beauty of Indigenous languages and the value and importance they have held throughout history and continue to hold today.
